CHRIS PAUL ELECTED NATIONAL BASKETBALL
PLAYERS ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) announced today that NBPA Player Representatives voted to elect Chris Paul as the Union’s President, succeeding outgoing President Derek Fisher. The election was held during the NBPA Summer Meeting at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Having served as a Vice President on the Executive Committee for the past four years, Paul has been an integral part of the NBPA’s efforts to move the Union forward.

Roger Mason, Jr., who has served on the Executive Committee for four years, was elected as First Vice President. Mason replaces Jerry Stackhouse, who resigned from the office and is expected to take a position within the Union. Steve Blake and Anthony Tolliver were elected as Vice Presidents, filling the Executive Committee positions vacated by Paul and Mason.

The elections were supervised by an independent election services firm.
